STELLAR_07_outside

The stellar fashion team are on a shoot today with a really early start! So lots of coffee then!

Jude from 1st option, is the lovely model today, with jill mckay and aimee murphy working their magic in the hair and make-up department.

Check out next months stellar out in June to see the results!

My oh my, we’ve fallen in love. With bags, and hats and dresses and jewellery. The lovely ladies from the vintage clothing wonderland that is Dirty Fabulous, have recently returned from one helluva shopping trip in New York City. And the generous people they are, they’ve brought back something for everyone, literally. You’ll have a hard time not falling in love in this shop, between the fascinators, (you’ll defo win ladies’ day at the races with these ones) darling brooches, (the perfect gift) beautiful bags, (great to stand out at a wedding) and stunning dresses, that need to explanation, they’re just amazing, there really is something for everyone regardless of shape, size or style – in case you haven’t noticed, we want it all!

Now we know it’s getting harder to splash out on fashion of late, but it’s all about clever purchasing. These classic, timeless pieces are gonna last you forever and sure aren’t they practically antiques,  and if Bargain Hunt and the Antiques Roadshow have thought us anything (well they haven’t really), it’s that these things are a good investment. Safer than shares or property anyway and a whole lot more gorgeous.

agy deyn

Agyness Deyn, always one to shock in the style stakes, took it even further at the Met Gala Benefit last weekend. The model had some major glamafication before the party, replacing her offbeat, kooky style, (loud colours, mis-matched fabrics, punky hair) with an old school, Hollywood glamour look, complete with vamped up bouffant, winged eyes and glistening jewels to match her taupe Burberry gown.

Now we here at STELLAR TOWERS are just torn in two, the Go Agy camp reckon she look’s the business, stunning and glamourous while retaining her individuality, the other side, let’s call them the No Agy camp, reckon she looks more like she’s been dragged through a bush than a hair salon. So we’re taking it to the great Irish public, Agy’s new ‘do, yay, or nay?

Baking Cases
If you’re a fan of cupcakes, buns and muffins (aren’t we all?) Then you’ll lurve these cute, colourful, silicone cases from homeware shop, Anvil in Bray. At €7 for 6 baking cases and €10 for the mini muffin cases, baking has never been so stylish….mmmm tasty x

Melanoma Awareness Month

Did you know?

  • Ireland has among the highest skin cancer rates in Europe with over 5,000 new cases of the disease every year.
  • In Ireland, 1 in every 10 women will develop skin cancer by the age of 74 years.
  • 66% of Irish people have a higher risk of developing Skin Cancer because of their skin type.
  • 90% of all skin cancers are preventable. Virtually all the risk comes from the sun and sun beds/sun lamps.

Scary stuff from the Irish Cancer Society we know, but the good folks a La Roche-Posay are using May – Melanoma Skin Cancer Awareness Month – to try to turn these statistics around and make Irish women more aware of their skin in the sun. They’ve just launched a brand spanking new website www.my-skincheck.com which is packed with information and tips for healthy skin habits and being melanoma aware. The website even has a quiz to test your skin cancer risk and a super helpful guide for checking out your moles.

If you’re craving even more info than the new site has to offer, get your ass to a free Melanoma Skin Cancer Public Awareness lecture on May 14 at 6pm in the Royal College of Surgeons. There you’ll get a expert’s run-down of all you need to know about Melanoma and its prevention. (Book yourself and a mate a spot at www.besunaware.com).

And that’s not all girlies..During the month of May, patients without health insurance who are referred by their GP to Eccles Clinic will be seen by a plastic surgeon for free for diagnosis and treatment where necessary. If the mole is suspicious, they will receive free surgery and the excised mole with will be sent to the pathology department at the Mater Private Hospital, where it will be examined for free. So no more excuses for procrastinating, get yourself checked out…90% of early melanoma detected on time can be cured, so it really ain’t worth taking the risk now is it?

Lily sure does love her Chanel handbags she is rarely spotted with out the classic 2.55 on her arm and now she has an even bigger reason to heart Chanel as she has just been announced as the face of the Autumn/Winter handbag campaign.

Lily’s transformation from chav chic to Chanel-loving fashionista has no doubt helped her score the coveted position as well as her quirky, cheeky personality and it seems to have got Mr.Lagerferld’s attention as it admits the reason it picked Lily was her fun attitude!

Lagerfeld, himself, will shoot Lily this week in London for the campaign – Lucky Lily !
