If there is one high street store who knows how to do a lucrative celebrity, designer or capsule collection its got to be H&M. Hot from the successful collaboration with French designer Sonia Rykiel, the long anticipated Garden Collection for H&M has now hit stores and although its brrrr outside this collection will have you dreaming about long hot summer days in no time (we said dream, didn’t we).
This women’s collection is a mix of floral and feminine pieces made from solely sustainable materials. Ann-Sofie Johansson, Head of Design at H&M is extremely happy with how the weareable collection has turned out. “The mix of floral prints and khaki classics works brilliantly for day to evening wear”.
If you love bright romantic florals you will adore this as the vibe of the collection is seventies hippy chic. The collection includes a feminine chiffon dress made from recycled polyester with a colourful garden print, a strapless red dress in organic cotton with romantic roses (seen in picture above, €39.95) and a smock dress in organic cotton with an ethnic floral pattern.
We can’t believe every single garment has been produced using sustainable materials or using recycled PET bottles or textile waste as the best thing about this collection has got to be the price – most items cost from around €16.95-€35.95! Crazy we know, we nearly fell off our chairs when we saw them. Enjoy, we know we will.
We’ ve all known someone whose had breast cancer or been indirectly affected by it so to show our continuing support we are loving nothing more than fashionarity right now, that’s fashionable charity guys. Of course anything that includes guilty-free shopping, giving to charity and grabbing a brand new bargain buy all-in-one is STELLAR’s friend.
This year the retailers supporting the campaign include Marks & Spencer, River Island, Warehouse and Topshop. Launched yesterday the ad campaign featuring singer Kylie Minogue, model Claudia Schiffer and actress Sienna Miller was shot by legendary photography Mario Testino and five years on after beating breast cancer herself (go her!), Kylie appears scantly clad wrapped in only a silk sheet that bears the Fashion Targets Breast Cancer logo and has the strap line “Wear your support”.
Speaking about the campaign Kylie said, “It means so much to me to be part of this year’s campaign for Fashion Targets Breast Cancer. I wholeheartedly support their effort to raise funds for the vital work undertaken by Breakthrough Breast Cancer.”
Along with the range of black and white clothing being sold in various retailers a website has also been set up to buy the collection – so no excuses ladies. On http://www.fashiontargetsbreastcancer.org.uk you can view the collection, which includes skirts, t-shirts, scarves and footwear.
Since the launch of Fashion Targets Breast Cancer in the UK in 1996, the initiative has raised over £10.5m for Breakthrough Breast Cancer. So in order to see this number rise get clicking ladies. About 30% of the each item you buy will go directly to Breakthrough Breast Cancer.

Urban Outfitters’ new TBA Collection, designed by Binbin McNiven, takes it’s inspiration from actress Mia Farrow (the woman Woody Allen left to date his adopted step-daughter…weird).
Appearing as a wide eyed innocent in 60’s horror classic Rosemary’s Baby or a decadent 1920’s flapper in The Great Gatsby, Mia was the definition of sophistication and cool, and had an inherent innocence, grace and naive charm. The TBA collection tries to capture all the features of Mia Farrow’s look over the years.
The combination of metallics (which featured prominently in many Oscar gowns this year) and soft powder colours, TBA’s latest collection creates an effortless sex appeal which takes inspiration from some of Mia’s on-screen vixens.
The collection features some classic, modern shapes and styles including:
- Baby doll dress with hand made beaded peter pan collars
- A four tier hand-beaded mini dress
- Jazzy flapper dress
- Metallic beaded gold long waist coat
Here are a couple of the new pieces to get an idea, pop in to Urban Outfitters and check out the whole range.
