If you consider yourself to be a bit of an art buff, or are a total novice who’d like to know more, why not do something altogether different this weekend and head along to the Art Fair in the RDS. The ma-hoo-sive hall at the RDS will be with exhibits from some of the country’s most renowned artists, as well as some up-and-coming, and very talented newbies. There is tonnes to see and it will be a crash course in what’s happening in the Irish art scene. It’s a great spot to pick up some really unique Christmas gifts, and who knows, you might pick up something really special for yourself while you’re at it?
The Art Fair runs from Friday the 5th to Sunday the 7th of November, General Admission is €10 but check out our Facebook page to learn how you can win tickets to the event. For more information log on to www.rds.ie/artfair
We love our readers so much we want them to get in on the action so here’s a sneak preview behind the scenes of Noirin Kelly’s photo shoot in next months Stellar, which is out tomorrow. Get it before it flies off the shelf. Woohoo!
If your anything like some of us at the Stellar towers and have left it to the last minute to organise your St. Paddys Day festivities then have no fear my fellow cailins (or maybe just Paddy and Patricia) the Guinness Storehouse has come to our rescue…
For one day only on St. Patrick’s Day, the Guinness storehouse will let anybody with the first name Patrick or indeed any variant of the name (mmm…check out website for all names derived from Patrick) with a special complimentary pass, otherwise known as the “VIP Pass” (Very Important Patrick Pass) – get out the fake ids people. No no, we would never encourage that sort of thing- so get your group of leprechauns, I mean friends and head down to celebrate 10 years since the Storehouse first opened its doors to the public!
Fire jugglers and street performers will greet you on your arrival. And for something a little more traditional, there will be an interactive Céilí Mór taking place during the day. Visitors can also learn how to pour the perfect pint of Guinness and Guinness brown bread with smoked salmon will be served to all visitors.
Remember Patrick’s must present official photo ID, e.g. passport, driver’s license, National Identity Card, at the point of purchase to gain free admission. For us other average Joe’s entry costs €15 and those who purchase a ticket online at http://www.guinness-storehouse.com can also avail of a 10% discount off adult tickets.
