Yes, it’s really happening! Luxury French fashion house, Lanvin, has teamed up with H&M to create a capsule collection for the high street store.

Since becoming the label’s artistic director in 2001, Alber Elbaz has brought a new life to the house. His use of ribbons, pearls and embellishments combined with sharp tailoring and exquisitely cut garments have made him a favorite among fashion’s finest.

In a statement Elbaz said that “H&M approached us to collaborate, and see if we could translate the dream we created at Lanvin to a wider audience, not just a dress for less.”

Elbaz was careful to point out that he did not want to create a stepsister mass-market collection for the brand however. His enthusiasm for the project has come from the idea of “H&M going luxury rather than Lanvin going public.”

So when can we get our hands on it then?!

The collection will arrive on our shores on November 23rd. Not before we get a taster of what’s to come via an online film preview of the collection that is to be aired on November 1st at hm.com.

That’s not all! There are rumors that Elbaz has teamed up with make-up artist Pat McGrath to create a limited edition lipstick that will also be sold at H&M. The look: smart over sexy.

Girls, get in line!

Festival season is coming to a close but not without one last hurrah at the Electric Picnic this weekend! Chances are that last-minute packing is under way so we here at STELLAR Towers have had a look back at some of the best festival fashion this summer. . . .

Coachella kicked of the festival calendar state side this summer and as always celebrities flocked to the campsite. Alessandra Ambrosio kept cool under a 70’s style oversized hat and kept to the theme with casual layering and lots of fringing.

While we are all hoping the sun will stay shining in Laois who knows when the Irish skies might open?!  So how can we stay looking festival chic without getting lost in those layers? Take a leaf out of Fearne Cotton’s book by pairing a fun and feminine dress with the country classic Barbour jacket and some cute boots. Flats of course!

Kate Moss never gets it wrong when it comes to festival fashion, and she didn’t let us down this summer either rocking the ever popular denim cut offs with a chunky oversized scarf .

Keeping it simple was Emma Watson at Glastonbury. Add a quirky detail to a clean and classic outfit like Emma did with this leopard print belt.

Take a fashion cue from one of this lot and Stradbally won’t know what hit it!

Here at STELLAR Towers we can’t get enough of Ireland’s best bloggers. Featuring everything from street style to Big Apple escapades get a little piece of the action and your daily fashion fix with this stylish crew…

1.Stephen Moloney has taken to the city’s streets and documented all that is fabulous about Dublin’s fiercest fashionistas. With snaps of a 16-year-old former Manolo Blahnik workie looking slicker than we’ve ever seen a student, as well as cute girls rocking old school vintage, this is a street style blog to rival all others. On top of it all, his commentary is just a treat. Check out his latest finds here

2.Lyndsay in the City is the personal daily adventures of a Dublin graduate in the world of New York publishing. Lyndsay has just graduated from intern status at one of the city’s magazines. Log on here to see what happens next.

3.Menswear inspired looks is still being worn by the stylish set and where better to take inspiration from than the boys themselves! At Male Mode, Cillian shares his musings on menswear with his latest posts featuring his favorite autumnal looks and even an interview with an up and coming Broooklyn based designer Raun Larose. Visit his blog here.

It’s Emmy time again when all the sitcom stars don their finery and take to the Nokia theatre in sizzling LA. While the weather may have been scorching the style left much to be desired. It really was all a bit, well, boring.

The little black dress, a wardrobe staple for us all, made numerous appearances on the red carpet last night. Heidi Klum dared to bare almost all in a tiny Marchesa mini dress while Kelly Osbourne opted for a vintage inspired Tony Ward number.

It’s the red carpet, it’s Hollywood so where is all the sparkle?! Thankfully Clare Danes did not disappoint in a floor sweeping Armani Prive nude number. Simple, but enough glitz to catch our eye. Staying with nude hues was Elizabeth Moss who chose the perfect figure hugging Donna Karen dress for her. How memorable was it though? This seems to have been the disappointment of the night: while nobody got it terribly wrong, everybody played it safe.

Well, there is at least one exception to the latter: Lauren Graham, what were you thinking?! A slit up the side, baggy blouse on top, it all just made for a definite fashion faux pas.

It wasn’t all bad however with stand outs such as Anna Paquin wearing a black but heavily embellished Alexander McQueen dress. While it was not the most popular choice of the evening among some fashion critics at least she showed us something different. Here at STELLAR towers there was a definite favorite: January Jones stood out in a vivid blue Versace number complete with cone-shaped bra cups. If it wasn’t for those black pumps!

Well, eh, Style Wars…

If you’re just a tad addicted to Ireland’s answer to Project Runway, TV3’s Style Wars (we can’t get enough of the drama or enough of gawping at Caprice) then here’s your chance to meet the budding designers in the flesh and have them work their magic on you.

The folks at Lipton have teamed up with the show and the fabulous people at Fran & Jane to host weekly events in the Fran & Jane Dundrum Town Centre store. Over the next few weeks a different a different Style Wars finalist will be working as a stylist in the store each Saturday, offering tips and advice for the season ahead. And while you peruse the clothes, you’ll get to sample some Fruit & Herbal tea too…win-win if you ask us.

It’s all to celebrate the Lipton challenge on the latest airing of the show in which each of the finalists had to put together a Lipton Herbal & Fruit inspired look and create a headpiece, direct a photoshoot, and put together a magazine spread worthy of a glossy like STELLAR (phew, we’d need a cuppa after that).

And if you like what you see on the telly, you can win a Lipton inspired Fran & Jane ensemble all of your own. They’ve got seven up for grabs, so check out their Facebook page for details on the comp as well as info on the weekly store events.

Seven, count 'em, seven former Miss Irelands line up in infusion-inspired ensembles...

If you ever needed a reason to pop into River Island’s Ilac centre flagship store now you have one. The winner of the 2010 River Island Fashion Design Bursary, Sile O’Shea, was down unveiling her graduate collection in the windows for all to see.

Talented Sile from Pettigo, Co. Donegal was chosen from ten finalists to receive the bursary, winning £3000 and a paid 3 month internship in River Island’s cutting edge design studio in London- a dream prize for any budding Irish fashion designer.

Sile’s collection- ‘The Two Edith Beales’- was inspired by the 1975 documentary “Grey Gardens”, a quirky little film that designers as diverse as John Galliano and Marc Jacobs claim to also be inspired by (must check it out). Sile’s collection puts across a modern translation of the iconic style of the 1970s. She used key textiles inspired by the enigmatic Beale’s on georgette, silk satin and cotton, and contrasted with block colour silks, latex, Mongolian wool and leather.

Winning the sought after award which is now in its seventh year does wonders for the graduate student. It will mark the beginning of her journey with River Island, where her talent will be nurtured like previous winners who have gone on to make phenomenal contributions in the design studios at River Island.
Sile’s collection will be on display from Friday 25th of June to Thursday 1st of July. We’ve told you here first, she’s the next big thing.
